Hello,

I'm contemplating powder-coating a number of parts on the underside of my car;i.e bolt-on sub-frame connectors as an example.

Has anyone here powder-coated any bolt on parts? I'm looking to add a layer of rust protection by having the metal primered first and then powder-coated to give it a longer lasting clean look.
Want to know if anyone has experience in this, pros and cons?

Also, if you can list some items that were powder-coated that would be great!

Powder coating is done on bare metal! No primer. Great for brackets, pulleys and such

I had my ralley wheels done and then painted on top of the powder coat to a more matallic paint they turned out great. The place I had them done did it for $29 a wheel and they use a metal blast instead of sand. It was totally worth the price they look like new.

I noticed my sub-frame connectors original casting paint job is cracking, fading, and coming off. They look beat up and old. A nice powder coating should do the trick. I'm going to inquire today with a local shop and take some before and after pics too.

I also have cast quality 3" exhaust pipes that come out before the rear tires that I would like to get a High Temp Ceramic Coating to provide a better finish look vs the plain-jane look it currently has.

Do not powder coat any thing with spring tension,, such as leaf springs, trunk springs or torsion bars.. It will take the tension out of them,,
