I can't answer directly, as I'm not a collector. I owned these "when they were." Back then, we weren't worried about numbers.

I don't remember, anymore, where the VIN is on original engines, but my recollection is on the pan rail. I do NOT remember if you can see it without removing the pan

If this was a replacement block, it won't match, and may not even have one
