I hav a 1976 dodge w100 plow truck i recently put a new altenator and regulator in but it still seems to lack power when i turn my heater blower motor on high my alt gauge goes way down close to discharge and when i rev up the motor the blower speeds up but the gauge stays the same till i turn the blower off, and it really goes down if i have my head lights on. Its a new battery and i was wondering if i put a dual battery setup in if that will fix the problem. Also my plow seems to lack lift power all connections r thight. Can anyone help me in any way????

Ok, the connections are tight, but are they clean? Is it the same as before you changed the alt and reg? Those year trucks were notorious for melting fuseblocks. I'll defer to the Truck guys here on that one. Probably the best place to start, then move on to the plow issue. Good luck and welcome.

i looked at the fuse panel both front and back and it is like new condition. coonections r clean. maybe i should put an aftermarket volt gauge in.

I'd try running a jumper wire temp. and see if it makes a difference. BTW, heater fans use a ton of juice when they start to go bad. My 79 dodge truck headlights were dim too, then one day the low beams quit, turns out it was the floor mounted dimmer and the connections to it.(they get alot of abuse, dirt and moisture) There still a bit dim but a ton better than before. Bulbs are old though
