i just joined, and its my first post, so be nice
ive been doing a little research on raising the power of my two door '77
chrysler lebaron. it has the factory 318 with the 904 transmission.
currently i have:
`long tube headers (summit)
`dual exhaust (2.5" with flowmasters)
`weiand action plus dual plane intake
`MP electronic ignition conversion kit
`holley 4160 4bbl in a 600 cfm size (yes, i know its WAY to big, i didnt know about VE when i ordered it
i have a set of '302 casting heads i pulled from the junkyard, and id like to put those onto it to raise the compression a bit, being that they are of a closed chamber/heart shaped design.
when i install these heads im also going to be going with a cam/lifter/valve spring upgrade as well (one of the kits from mancini racing)
id like to rebuild the heads, so i was thinking of getting 2.02/ 1.60 valves installed at this time as well as trying my hand at porting the heads a little too.
here are my questions:
would i need to change the pushrod length at all if i decided to deck the heads further to raise the compression even more?
whats the max you can go with milling the heads without having to get new pushrods?
with the raise in compression ratio, the carb that i have should be ok right?
what mopar perf. cam should i go with on this?
thanks for the help in advance
