Question how do i know if i have a big block k frame

i have a 66 charger with a 318 poly and im not sure if if it would have came stock with a big block k frame or a small block k frame because it is a very wide engine and im thinking the transmission has a big block transmission because it kinda looks like a big block bell housing bolt pattern but im not quite sure what the bolt pattern is supposed too look like.

You can use the same k frame ,just get big block motor mounts and the rb will drop right in, the trans mounts are the same.

lol, its not a stupid question, i asked the same one when I got into mopars. ohhhhhhh so many yeasr ago. the big blocks, 361, 383, 400. are of course b-big blocks. the 413 and up motors had a longer stroke, maening the piston travels farther from the crank, so the y had to raise the deck height, of the block to accept this extra stroke, thus, rb. Raised block, or raised deck.

All V8 K members are the same. The transmission from your poly 318 will not fit your big block. You will need to get a big block transmission. The transmission mount is the same. There are no such things as stupid questions. We all had to learn some time. Good Luck.

I don't know about your particular car, but there are aftermarket engine brackets to allow V8's to be swapped into 6 cylinder K members, as well

yes, shumakers.com. they make any and all conversion mounts and brkts, youll need for any mope. considering what you have to do to fab up the required parts to do a conversion, theyre relativley affordable.
