70 duster wheel stud replacement

It's happened to all of us !! During the restoration of my Duster a mechanic snapped off 3 of the left handed studs on the rear drivers side. I would like to replace all the left handed studs with right before the project is complete. What is the easiest way to get the studs out ? Can it be done on the car ? Thanks, Steve

I did it with mine
you just gotta hit em out

when putting the new ones back in, i put washers on the side your tightening, and this will press the new ones into place

Duster Studs

Thanks for the info. I had put penetrating oil and tried to knock them out the first time with no luck, thought their might be a trick to it or something. I guess I need a bigger hammer !! Thanks.

dont go to big with the hammer you just need to hit evenly and they should pop right out and put them back in the way 67 says

Thanks guys, got the back studs out. Having trouble getting the front drum off. Car was in storage for 10 yrs. Front drum is rusted with small rust holes around perimeter. Does this also get "hammered" off. Not going to mess with it until I get more info. Thanks

What I would recommend before proceeding is to spray it with PB Blast as it will make it a little easier to get it apart, especially if it is rusty.

make sure your brake shoes are adjusted inword and do what C says as they get rusted on the axle shaft but it should pop off with a little tap from the back side
