340 oil filter

I have a 69 dart with a 340 and just put headers on it.Does it matter which way the filter housing is turned when you bolt it to the block with the big bolt. I have to relocate it somewhere so the headers will fit thanks

Two things I try for is away from heat and, if possible, hanging down so when the filter is removed it holds most of the oil and you don't get a bath.

No it doesn't matter on the 90 degree adapter.

You can also get the proper "standard" filter mount if the headers allow, and use no 90 adapter. I'm pretty sure I eliminated the 90 adapter when I put the 340 in my old 70, and with headers on my 67 Dart, I don't use one there, either. I do have to use a short filter, Wix part no 51068
