Bulkhead connector

While chasing the gremlins out of the 'Bird, I found the source of many problems. Seems as the firewall electrical bulkhead connector has suffered some heat damage. I'm gonna chalk this up to the previous teenage owner hooking up a mega-watt fog light system and running it thru the headlight circuit. I guess cutting holes in a mint RR grille to mount the f#ckers wasnt enough, he had to cook the wires too:mad:! Jerk. Anyway, the work doesnt scare me, I'll probably wire in a headlight relay to handle the power and use the factory switch to activate it. Now I'm rambling, sorry, Question is WHERE can I find a new bulkhead connector? I dont have a clue where to start. Thanks for any help

Just to let you know the bulkhead conector in my 68,69,70,Charger's 68 GTS Dart all had problem's in the conector area. The Dart almost burned . The 68 Charger also came close. Bad design after I found some good conectors I used dialectric grease and fabed a clamp to keep the 2 halves tight. The weight of the harness pulling down over time seemed to be causing the problem or so it seemed that way. It dosn't help that they run the heavy wires to the volt gage either. On the charger I ran the new wire to the volt gage with out a junction conection at the bulkhead. Head light wire also. Never had a problem after that. Not sure if that makes sence the way I have it worded so if not just ask. Good luck

Right, the ammeter is a bad thing. There are some fixes for it. I read that one of the instrument repair places can take the ammeter and rescreen the face of the gauge and turn it into a volt gauge to match the car. I plan to do the harness eventually, but just wanted to see if the connector is available by itself

check out this months mopar action - they have a small write up about adapting the innerds from a cheepy chugger sun voltmeter in place of the factory ammeter. going to do it to my dart this winter

That looks like my 68 Chargers under dash fire LOL . The guy at the post office wont open his office door so I could get a fire ext. So I ran back out and grabbed a garbage can top and used it to fill in the drivers side floor area to the fire wall with snow and slush . What a mess . But it would have been gone if not for the garbage can . LOL That brown matting under the green carpet sure did burn and stink. I was 17 at the time. So I didnt think to go back and thank the post office guy !!!!!!!!!!! for all his help. NOT!!!!!!!!!
