putting a 413 in a 68 coronet??

Hey guys, I'm a new member here! I have a 68 coronet that I'm in the process of rebuilding. It was a 318 car orinially. I have the oportunity to buy a 64 new yorker with a 413 in it. I was wondering how hard it would be to take the drive train out of the new yorker and put it in my coronet?

i DO know the 65 new yorker 413 has a odd ball left mount. and to put a 440 in the 65 requires a spcl mount. i have built one. i think i made a bracket to go down to the oil pump boss. iam sure others have better info.. all so the oil pan needs to be checked out. normally the 318 stuff is compleatly different. you will need to use the 413 trans. the 64 trans might have a ball and trunnuoun trans driveshaft flange, being diff than most 68 trans. allso the the shifter lever might be different, check it out. and the linkage to carb is different. just swap to a 68 carb. or braze a 68 carb lever to the 64 carb. thats all i can remember.

Not really what I wanted to hear :yikes: if it didn't require to much extra work I thought it would be pretty sweet lol I guess maybe ill just keep looking for a 383.

dont forget you have 1964 413. it might be different than a 1965 413. the odd ball mount on the 65 engine raps around the front of the block IE, it only has one blot in a mount ear on the side, and 2 bolts going into the front of the block. i THINK this is a ONE year only set up. on the chrysler body, i dont know about the coronet body, as they did put the RB engine in the coronet that might be a good place for parts. most of the things i listed are bolt on changes. be sure to ask around more. i think there are experts that know more than i about RB engine.

I've always loved that 413.

What about calling Schumacher and seeing if they have anything for a mount ?
They build mounts for darn near anything, into anything else, Mopar.

The guy wants $1200 for it and it runs and drives. I emailed them about motor mounts, but I've thought about it and I'm gonna buy it. How bad a$$ would be to have a 413 in that car!
