Question Supercharged Question

I have a 1973 2dr Charger, I pulled out the 400 that was in there and I have a 440 to put in now. But I would like to Supercharge the engine. I would just want to know how you would do it, if it was your car. I was thinking about an 8-31 BDS blower. Let me know what yall think. Thanx.

Don't just drop on a blower, build the engine for the blower. You are forcing more air into the combustion chambers so you will have to install forged internals and lower the compression. Just slapping on a blower will result in problems, at the very least you will fry your rings, probably worse.

If I were to do it, I would get the block machined and align honed, install forged parts, have the rotating assembly balanced, and do some head work. I would make sure the engine is solid before forced induction.

Supercharged question

Thanx, that was my plan for when I get a blower. I was wondering what stats you would use what size blower and maybe any other stats you could give me machining wise. I am going to make a custom cam special to the enigines needs. But this is my first Blown Engine so any information is extremely valued. Thanx for taking the time to answer my questions.

Any company that produces blowers can give you the best advice on what set up works best with their product. Email the ones you are considering. Any reputable company has done a lot of research and testing and will be glad to share. They will ask you what you want out of the engine and what your needs are. Do you want street or strip? Total, balls-out horsepower, or some power with daily reliability.

After that it is justy deciding what suits your desire and budget.
