Trans Removal

Trans Removal

What is the best way to support an engine when removing the transmission? It's a 66 Coronet with a 318 poly and 904 trans. Thanks.

floor jack with a block of wood. or a jackstand with a block of wood.

On the oil pan? Is the pan strong enough so that it won't cave in? Sorry if it's a dumb question.

It is plenty stronge unless of course its rotted or rusted badly. I've done it like that quiet a few time myself and never had an issue.
