Viper Roadrunner

Anybody put a Viper engine in a Roadrunner yet? Will it fit?
Looking to build a 71 Superbird and would love to have a Viper engine in this car.

I measured the engine and it is 36 inches from the back of the block to the front.A roadrunner is 36 inches from the firewall to the rad. support. It would not fit with out serious mods.

Working on it at the moment, you need to cut the trans tunnel, and modify the torsion bar / transmission cross member to fit the T-56, you need a tubular K-member.. The K-member requires the motor mounts to be moved forward four inches..

You can no longer fit a Mopar Steering box, you have to go non powered rack and pinion..

Anything after that, drive shaft, rear end, fuel, electrical, isn't a big deal..

You can still use the torsion bars, and have a comfortable spot for your shifter..

Check out my thread in member projects, 1972 Charger from Windsor Ontario.

Like said just depends on how much work and money you want to spend. A new hemi is doable too but still needs custom work
