Throttle Shaft Seal
Rule number (1) Look at how the part came out. Which i didn't do because i couldn't see it. I took a little black rubber seal out from the throttle shaft on my 727 torqueflite transmission and on one side it is hollowed out , the the other side is solid. This takes some doing to get to this seal, so i would like to get it back in right the first time. I would apprieciate any help on this question, Thanks, Seg.

Iam not sure on the seal you speak of but generally as a rule the flat side would be the dry side..so to speak and the cup side would be wet. Hope that helped.
By the way, welcome to the forum and nice car pics.

Just re-read the first post not sure if you got it in or not, but the seal is just like the seal in the front of the trans and the one that goes into the timing cover with one exception it has a dust cover on it (the rubber piece). The metal piece goes into the end of the tailshaft with the rubber piece facing out, won't fit any other way, and you hit it straight on to get it to seat straight. Hope this helps
