Help! Dash vent removal

I'm posting this here in hopes of getting some help because all I hear are there's in the other thread I posted:):):)...

OK...72 Challenger...my dash pad is destroyed & getting a new one made is financially out of the question so I've decided to try and install the plastic dash cap I bought 5 years ago. Looks more difficult than I anticipated. My car is an a/c car and I'm having a hard time seeing how to remove my dash vents & I don't wanna destroy em in the process. The dash is still in the car. Anyone know how to remove em without killin em???? Thanks!!!

Are you sure the dash cap doesn't go around the vents ? I would suspect you need to remove the dash pad to release the clips from the back side

I believe the dash pads aren't really removeable without destroying them?? It seems there is a vent bezel but I don't wanna just start yanking on it unless someone here knows that's the only way...scares the crap outa me:yikes:
