Windshield installation

Who knows how to install front and rear glass in a '74 challenger? Do these use a rubber ring or just adhesive caulking or butyl tape?

Any ideas? I have the rubber, but I am just wondering if it was just thrown in, and isn't actually for the car. There is no lip around the window opening for the groove in the rubber, so not sure how it goes in.

I"ll take a stab at it.....by 1974 I believe they glued them in place by then..they used a special black butyl caulk....nasty stuff

I was thinking that was a possibility, and it would work, but then the chrome trim sit's at a funny angle.

I'm going to have another look at it on the weekend, and see if I can figure it out.

Someone on here has to know how to install windshields.

They used butyl tape,it comes in different thickness depending on original or new glass.I think it was 3/8" and 5/16". The chrome trim is held on with the revel clips.

Hope this helps.
