Mirada in Norway
Hi guys.
I bought a 1980 Dodge Mirada from a friend of mine, in order to save it from the junkyard. I spend the better part of two months, welding in new steel and fixing a LOT of rust, and electrical issues! It's almost ready for summer, but the door pins are lousy, and I need new ones, but I don't know where to buy them, and I need a parts number! Does anyone in here know? |

Nice car with the floor shifter that was rare. Missing the console though.
For door pins on chrysler cars you remove the hinge and weld up the current holes nice and thick then grind them down. Drill new holes in the same place and put in a new generic pin cut to fit. These are not Garbage Motor vehicles with brass bushings that go bad if you look at them funny. |

Just a note but usually when a front passenger floor pan is rotten it's because of a leak from the windshield or firewall. You might want to take a look for hidden holes near the cowl.
Starters are usually just clean the hell out of them and put back together. The steel case is black the aluminum is unpainted as is the white porcelan. The small tin plate that covers the gears is usually unpainted but can be painted black as well. Check the drive coupler it should lock itself without slipping. Some can be rebuilt while others are sealed units. |

The rust in the framerail, almost killed the project, It were in the beginning of winter, and I were quite surprised over the amount of rust, that I had uncovered.
I really didn't think it were that bad, and I had allready taken care of everything else! But I overcame the dispair, rolled up my sleeves and got to work!!
