1964 -318 auto swap?

You know, that is the one thing I am not sure of with the poly blocks; if they have the same bell housing as an LA motor. If they do then you will want a 518a tranny (late 80s-early 90s before 94) for an auto.

Well the wide 318 has the same boltpattern as the newer 318 so any thing that fits a regulaR 318 will fit the wide [polysphere] 318.

An a500 or a 518 will bolt up [not sure if any electronics are involved]

Another option would be an overdrive 4sp [Manual}

Those autos are hydro shift, no electronics...that I know of and have seen.

only up tom 95. 96+ they went electronic and though otherwise teh same trans they changed the names to the "RH/RE suffixes. Previous to 96 became known as "RH" (RWD/hydraulic gov) 96+ "RE" means RWD electronic gov. 42,44 RH?RE are what used to be called "A500" (904-based) 46, 47 RH/RE are what used to be known as A518 48RE (diesel only) is what they used to call "A618".
