1948 Plymouth lug bolts
 

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. Here's my delima I am looking for your help. My Plymouth does not have studs on the brake drum hubs, it has female threads. I am looking for a solution to keep my drive train stock but I want to pu nice custom wheels on it. I need a way to modify my drums to a stud or I need brake drums that will fit my car with studs all ready. Any ideas out there?

Do you think it would be possible to find a wheel stud that would have such an odd size thread, as well as reverse threads on the driver's side of the car? I will have to ask our bolt supplier here at work if they can or know someone who could either manufacture this or possibly might already have something like this available. Do you know any of the specs as far as length, type of thread, what type of shoulder it would need? I know that's a lot to ask at one time, especially if you haven't already got it spec'd out. I would also be interested in this type of conversion on my 1950 NewYorker. I've considered spindal swaps, but I'm certain that would involve fabrication in other areas as well (brakes, A-arms, other suspension components), good luck. If I find out something I'll pass it along. Let us know if you come up with anything on your own.

Dorman has wheel bolts. they are called "
"Wheel Hardware, Wheel Bolts" you will have find out what size you have. having worked on those bolts iam going to guess 1/2" or 7/16", my best guess is 1/2". allso note the length, to be care full to not get it to long. else the bolt hits the breaks. allso the left side will most likely be left hand thread. most likely be fine thread 1/2"-20 hope that helps
