Fuel issue

Good evening all!

So I'm having a bit of an issue with my '54 Savoy. The car has a new fuel pump, fuel filter and has plenty of fuel in the tank but it's not getting fuel into the pump. The pump has a glass bowl so I can see that it's not pulling anything from the tank, what's the best way to check the inlet line coming from the tank for clogs? And what would be the best way to clear it? Thanks for any advice anyone has to offer!

Electric pump or mechanical? Are you sure there is suction from the pump? You may have a leak in the system somewhere causing the vacuum from the pump to not reach to tank. Is the pickup tube clean?

If you want to blow the line out, pull it off the car and put compressed air to it. Regulate it down to 10-20 PSI so that it doesn't go whipping around all over the place.

Another thing you can do is disconnect the line from the tank and the pump, cap off the line at the pump, put in 10 PSI of air and see if you can hear/feel any leaks.

the suction line on ANY pump will leek air in long before it has a leek out on the pressure side. a suction hose will let air in easier the leek out.

Look at the top section of your fuel pump ..via the glass bowl and verify that the inlet section is not jammed with crud ...I confirm with brake wash and remove the inlet line. Also you can verify the diapraghm to make sure it works ...was your pump lever hard to push in the timing chain case ?
