The link went to a search page and not a specific item?

To pull a trailer (not a fith wheel) you will need a receiver assembly that mounts to the frame. You want one that does not affect the spare tire and the spare tire removal.

I recommend at least a class 3 (5000lb pull / 500lb tonque weight max) hitch 2" receiver. If you are towing a car, you can get a class 4 or 5 which is the same assembly with upgrades to handle weight distribution systems to up you max tongue and pull weights.

I have used Reese and Hidden Hitch. Both were excellent products.

Post back with the right link if still unsure.

Heaviest duty 2" hitch receiver you can get. Reese is probably good as any. A GOOD shop can build one for you

Reese is my opinion, what model of ram 1500/2500/3500 you don't want to overload the truck, why not take it to a hitch shop and have them install one saves you from wrestling with it and messin with the wiring but thats up to you. What kind of trailer?does it have electric brakes if so you need a controller. Any brand hitch will work [stay away from the bolt together type] only purchase the fully welded one piece ones.

+1 for Reese unfortunately, I already place an order for this. Curt I believe is also a good brand?

I'm sure that's a good one. If you are new to receivers, some advice. Back in the days when I sold parts, I ran into a few guys who left a "stinger" in the receiver for long periods. Eventually, they'd rust up and you cannot get them out.

So, some advice. Either leave NOTHING in the receiver when not towing, or if you insist on leaving a decorative plug or stinger in the receiver, grease the living heck out of it with some heavy grease.

Look at the Super Farm. That’s how a hitch should be built.
