simple paint question
I have an '88 Ram D-100. It's painted two tone gray, the paints in great shape for being 21 yrs old, not peeling or chipping, but it's matte. The paint looks faded, as if the clear coat all wore off and just left the base. My question is this, was the original paint gloss and it has just been worn over the years or was it painted with the matte finish intentionally?

I had the same thing happen with an 85 D100 that I had.
I believe that they had a gloss finish to them. One easy way to help bring the color back to life is with rubbing compound and a buffing wheel. It will take a little while but the finish result is worth it. At least is was with my 85 D100 and it was a dark green color.
