NEED HELP PLEASE!!

Hey everyone im new to this site. I have own a lot of mopar in the past. currently I own a 2000 dodge Durango, 2001 dodge Durango, and my wife's 2013 Chrysler town and country. A few weeks ago my 4.7 in my 01 Durango blew up. the cheapest replacement I could fine is 1500.00 I am wanting to take the 5.9 out of my 00 and put it in my 01. when I do that I also want to change my 5.9 to carb. I would like to do this so I don't have to change computer, wiring harness or any of that. The 5.9 in my mind is a lot better motor. I haven't had any problems out it. also 5.9 you can find around here for next to nothing. can anyone help and give me some incite as far as how to change it?

Check local smog laws before swapping. It seems the factory can take a Good motor and then make a new model that turns out to be a POS

Like Lynn said, check your local smog laws. Some states do not allow you to swap a motor from an older vehicle into a newer one but will allow you to swap a motor from a newer vehicle to an older one.

Also, why not just get rid of the 01 and keep the 00? Why go through all that work of swapping? Also, why swap to carb? You have everything from the 00.

I'm not sure when MOPAR started it but everything goes thru the computer at some point. Lights, dash etc., so it's tough to get around.

Thanks for the reply's. One I live in the sticks of Kentucky there is no smog law here. The big reason for the 00 to 01 switch is the 00 came from ny. To say that it is a little rusty is a huge under statement. The lady asked what color it was and I told her rust. She put down red. lol
