1994 dakota. is it a Magnum?

we have a 1994 dodge dakota with the 5.2 in it. how do u tell if it is a magnum or not. and what is the difference. we know magnums were started in 1994 in dakotas. thanks for the help!!!

The magnum motors actually started in 91 for the dakotas and in 94 for the ram trucks. The magnum motors will have a dome shape intake. That is the easiest way to tell that it is a magnum. Plus the coil is mounted in the front under the alt.

it does have a dome shaped intake and the coil is located under the alternator. what is the real difference between the 2?

exhaust ports for exhuast manifolds, valves, intakes, EFI (magnum) and TBI and carb (LA).

There are performance intake out there, but they cost a pretty penny. Everything else is reasonably priced.

late as well. 92+ is magnum. pre-91 is LA. 91 is the bastard child though because its still an LA but it has the throttle body/efi of a Magnum
