i have 2001 dak 3.9 V6. with 4.1 gear powr-loc. in the snow the front wide tires push so much snow the rear tires just spin. my tire guy says the rims will not take to narrow tires kindly. and that snow tires do not last long cause they are soft. i think i need a narrow tire on the front and a good snow tire on the back. of course some add weight in the back will be good. what to do?

Move up to a 4X4...... Put the snow in the bed for the weight....

Yup, I used to shovel my driveway into the back of my old 84 2wd Nissan and run snow tires. I actually used to pull 4x4s and front drivers out when they'd get stuck. Miss that truck.

AAAAAAAA. iam 65 years i DONT shovel snow. thats what teenagers are for. could i do what the farmers do? put calcium in the rear tires? LOL LOL

On my Dakota 2wd I use to put snows all the way around and weight in the rear (mid ship or front of the box) and the truck was a tank and also would steer...Everyone thought it was a 4X4...And I live in the snow belt of NY...And even made a trip to the Tug Hill Plateau pulling a trailer with 2 snowmobiles on it in a 4 ft snow fall.. 8" on the road,, with no problem...Bill

if i can do it drywall buckets on hold downs was what i thought. the main thing is to be easy to put on and off.
