Big Block Stroker

Hey i am new to building race engines and i am looking for a big block stroker to put in a 42 plymouth rat rod. I am set on big block, and i am on a hunt for bottom end parts at the time. I would appreciate if anybody could give me specs on the 451 and or 431 strokers Torque, Horse, etc... and also if you could give me info on increasing the stroke in a 440 it would be a huge help.

thanks,
Christian

First the 451 is based on the low deck 400 block, If stroking a 440 you need to think 505.... carries lots of kits and parts

I already knew that about the 451. i am wondering what i can do with a 440 without purchasing a couple thousand dollar kit.

Stroking the 440 is the way to go for HP and cubic inches, I have a 522 with cast iron heads mildly ported with 11.1 comp and purple cam with the six-pack pulling
out 525 HP wish I had gone with the 572 stroker kit.

I use a 440/493 stroker in my 63 Sport Fury. Its a 440 block with a 440Source kit that has a 4.15 crank and at .030 over its 493 cubes. Nothing to crazy as its a street car I drive everywhere and it has pushed my 63 to 10.70's so far. Ron

Ron, My brother traded a 63 like yours in the Baltimore area 73-74 & everytime I see a pic of yours it reminds me how clean it was like yours is.

My Father bought it from a guy he got drafted into WWII with who was from Baltimore also

It was red with a 361 A/T P/S P/B Red Very Beautiful
