For a few years as a young man, you almost could not get me to ride in a Ford. Somewhat later, I learned a few things. Since then I've owned 5 Ford Rangers. My Dart has a Versailles 9" rear axle under it. Ford "top loader" 4 speeds used to be THE transmission for Jeep swaps. It might even be a better box than an A-833

Geez Bob, my first truck was a '68 F350 when I was 17yrs old. 200 6cyl non sync 1st gear 4spd with 4.88 axle, what a beast.
Son's '88 Mustang 351w I back halved with Mopar 8.75 4.10 gear will be dangerous.
Other son has the '88 Town Car wife has the 2000 Town Car Cartier and I drive a Ford truck for work but have never and will never own a Chevrolet.
The '70, '72 and '92 Dodges are are fun.
Dan.

After years of running on CNG "Witches is a gausses Fuel" The Plenum, intake, and runners had a very nice coat of oil that came threw the PCV valve.... When it was converted back to unleaded it washed all that residue down and varnish coated the valve stems. After it sat over night, you would go out and fire it up and it would bend every push rod in the motor....lol
This truck went to 3 different shops for repair, and all of them said it needed a motor.
We just pulled the heads off. took the heads apart. Cleaned everything up and put it all back together. and away it went for many more mike of great service.

One thing in that article that was not a 100% true was the HP of the Cummins in the 2014 3500 that I just bought tonight the HP is 385 and 850ftlbs of torque. I took it for a test drive and got on it around 30 mph and spun the rear duals ( Limited Slip ) both sides.. But it only has that HP with the Aisin transmission. The exhaust brake takes a little getting use to......Bill But I agree I'm not a big fan of Ford either and am a 4 Mopar man now..

Bob, with tax 62K. It started out being 68K but with rebates and Chrysler affiliates rewards. (That makes it 1% below dealer cost) and then they deduct the 3K in rebates. Its a Laramie crew...Bill

No I'm not trying to rub it in.. just sharing a dream that I have had since I was very young.. I always wanted to just take off and work different places to make enough money to get to the next place.. Now they have what they call work to stay at all these Rv resorts and they give you some money to boot.. My wife can work from anywhere and still has 10 years before she can retire.. I am eight years away by age but have been forced into retirement by the accident at work that blew my cervical spine apart then the whole heart problem.. which is doing very well now.. that is why I went back to work at Autozone to have something to do in my field.. But I miss the wrenching where I am most comfortable.. I want to travel and see this country before I am to old to enjoy it... That's my story and sticking to it... Bill

I don't really see the point in hating on a brand. I see that even cars that have a "mob mentality" like the prius, are great and functional for some people. I have learned that no cars are truely terrible and that they were all designed with a different audience in mid.
