drive a 92 Honda back and forth to work, also own 3 Subarus, Love the Subaru's.. on the 93.. 197,000 the 99 has 257,000 and the 90 has 290,000.. Who knows how many the Honda has, it has been threw 2 speedos.. Oh yah cold air on all of them.. I also own a Silverado and Lincoln and just sold my Dodge dually... Hands down and sad to say that older foreign stuff will out last the American stuff mile to mile with less repairs.. My old Toyota truck had 297,000 on it when it got stolen last year.. You take this from somebody who fixes his own cars and has never bought a new ride. The closest I came the 99 subaru had 32000 miles on it.
Don't know whats going on now I here a lot of complaints out of the newer Toyotas and Nissans,, And the new beamers with the diseals suck,,

yes iam trying to forget it. it was and is still junk. it was under powered, under sized. was cheap for a reason-it was CHEAP. i got in one once, it took me 5 min it fit my feet on the peddles. then i made the mistake to drive it, it felt like a go-cart. when i pushed on the gas peddle i wandered if it was even hooked up. dont get me started.

the K-car i can see how it would feel that way.. here i Wichita KS the police was asking for police car compete for police buying a fleet. chrysler entered a K-car, and made a BIG deal about it.. was on the local news, big deal. 3 mo later the police selected a car, the K-car was NEVER heard from.

I've had a few Nissan trucks that were good to me, (but now I drive a full size Dodge). Also had a Subaru WRX that hauled crazy *** for a 4cyl, but the ex got it. I'm not against forign rides, but they sure don't sound right with a loud exhaust and are far too small.

i have had my wife honda for a dd ( daily driver ) for a bit now and i havent had any problems.
it just loves the open road and doesnt even feel like your going that fast ( esp at when your driving 75 plus )...

My wife drives a Honda and hasn't had any issues with it. Good on gas, low maintenance and should be pretty easy to sell if the time comes.
Only vehicle that Dodge is putting out now that would interest us is the Challenger but neither o us are willing to drop that kind of money.
I'd love to drive a dodge B-series truck as a DD but I lack the space for one, not to mention it might be hard to strap in the little one.

Then there are the sports car lovers...
I like Mopars as you do, (I own a beautiful 1967 "C" body Chrysler Newport Custom Sedan, see photo) but if you are a sports car lover and don't have tons of dough to spend for an Italian, British, or a Corvette, here is the answer. Buy a Mazda Miata MX5, nothing better for a fun sports car. Bulletproof, gets 30 mpg, more fun car to drive than even the higher end sports cars. Granted it's made in Japan, but don't knock one until you've driven one a few hundred miles. They will out handle most other sports cars, cost less to buy, cost less to run, and cost less to maintain. I'm partial to them because I've bought and sold 136 of them so far. NOT ONE MIATA MX5 CAME BACK FOR ANYTHING, try that with a modern American car, not gonna happen. They are absolutely tough as nails.
So don't bash foreign cars unless your're not into sports cars, because the Mazda Miata MX5 is the best sports car buy in the world, period. I'd rather have one and drive one than a Viper, (and I've driven both). It is pure fun, economical and a joy to own, period. No other sports car can make the same claims, that's why it's voted "the best sports car" by every car magazine, and it's the leading seller of sports cars in the history of motoring. Bash the "other" foreign cars, but the Mazda Miata MX5 stands by itself in the world of motoring.

My family drives Fords for the most part. My dad has a 2000 ish pos 4 banger 4x2 ranger, my mom has a 2000 explorer. Kinda nice for its age but it makes a lot of creep noise going down the road. My Scout doesn't make that much body creep noise, or the pipes are so loud I just can't hear it, LOL. My Brother has a 97 Explorer and a 98 Mustang. I actually bought the Mustang a few years ago because it was a v6 with a 5 speed. It gets 28mpg which is a lot better than my current running vehicles. I use to drive 40mis one way to get to the closest sub station. I sold it to him when I got an apartment closer to work and put the money into my Charger. I save more money in not paying the insurance on it than in gas i would save with it.
I seem to be the only one in the family that has chosen to diversify. I have My 1993 F 150. I have my 1975 International Scout, which I think was made in Canada, but I'm not sure. I am working on my 71 Dodge Charger.
My mom did have an old 80's model Mazda pickup truck. That thing was tough! Wish they didn't trade it in for the ranger.

Well you're full of crap. Somewhere, someplace, you have driven what amounts to a foreign car. Quite a large amount of what Chrysler has sold in the last decades is foreign, along with GM and Ford.
I don't even know when it started, maybe Sunbeam?
a quote from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunbeam...9#Chrysler_era
" so in 1964, 30 percent of the company (along with 50 percent of the non-voting shares) was purchased by Chrysler, who was attempting to enter the European market. Ironically, Chrysler had purchased Simca the year earlier, who had earlier purchased Automobiles Talbot, originally the British brand that had been merged into STD Motors many years earlier."
READ THAT AGAIN. "Chrysler, who was attempting to enter the European market"
I'm not going to research and post the many others that Ma has crawled into bed with, the Arrows, the Colts, the Mitsubishi D50s, and on and on.
I think it's pretty ironic that you start tooting this stupid tattered beater of a trumpet while meanwhile "your favorite U.S. car outfit" is owned by and selling Fiats
Looked at a new "Dodge" Dart lately?

"440" ROADRUNNER:
Atta boy, give it to him like it is. There are many many cars out there today with American names. Go up to a window sticker on ANY new car, read where the percentage of parts come from, then you'll wake up. Most every cart made whether foreign or domestic has partys from elsewhere.
Enjoy your cars of the 50's-70's cause THOSE DAYS ARE LONG GONE!
Gerry
PS Anyone who call;s a "Miata" a girlie car hasn't driven one. I've sold and delivered 136 of them, only three were sold to women. Girlie car my ***, take one on the track before you bash it. Best sports car for the money, period. I have one with the six speed, factory handling package, traction control, stability control. I'll race anyone who bash's these cars on any race track, no problem.
