I think the only way I would drive a Miata is if I cram a 340 or 360 down its throat and stick in a nice 6 speed. If that is your preference to drive a Miata knock urself out. Me im a fan of the dodge stealth 3.0 V6 for "foreign" fun.

Girlie car? I've bought and sold 137 Miatas and only a few were sold to women, one races hers at Watkins Glen in the "Spec series". Girlie car? Nah, better drive one really fast on a nice course, before you "girlie" it....
...and as for Mopars, I LOVE EM!, but for sports cars I've had them all, two Ferrari's, two Aston-Martins, a very nice Jaguar XJS which I recently sold, but the Miata MX5 for the money is one fine ride! That's all folks, my two cents worth. Best sports car for the money, period, and carefully made in Hiroshimo, Japan.
Next week the Newport goes to its fifth summer car show, everyone likes it even although it's rather plain. I REALLY love driving it, it runs and drives like a new one. There's room for ALL cars and all models. As I've always said: "There's an *** for every seat".

I see alot of G-- guys driving them with convertable tops. But IDK. I wont fit in one or I would look stupid in one. I'm 6'4" and the last one I drove was into my shop for an NYS Inspection. I got stuck in the car and had to get out backwards No I dont want or even care to have one...Bill

I'm only 5'6", so it (my MX5) fits me to a tee. As for the Ferrari's, those $7000 timing belt changes (had to take the motor out, etc, etc, ) left me hating the car although it was supposedly the best at the time. Very expensive to keep up, the Miata MX5 costs nothing, it's "bulletproof".
The foreign cars are for a few, not everyone. Whether it's a Miata MX5 or a Mercedes, it's all in the liking of it. My friend in town owns the Chrysler, Dodge Jeep store and he sells a great selection of American iron. There is nothing in his lineup that is as much fun as my 2012 Miata MX5 setup the way it is. Sure I like MOPARS or I wouldn't have my Chrysler "C" body Newport Custom. But we have to face reality, not everyone likes just "one type of car", me included! I like LOTS of different makes, models.
I like my MOPAR because it's huge, rides like you're on a cloud, and is virtually rust free, a tribute to American iron, and folks love seeing it at the car shows. "There's an *** for every seat!"

You are right, it is a tough crowd indeed! Calling someone who owns a Miata MX5 "Not a REAL man" is not only slanderous but blindly stupid. I've had more cars in my 74 years than most, because I'm in the trade, and I frown on any idiot that calls a Miata owner "not a real man". I'm done with this discussion, there's an undereducated, nasty someone who should keep his mouth shut in every crowd. I love Mopars, have had quite a few including my prize winning current "C" body Chrysler and I love owning and driving my 2012 Miata MX5 set up for high speed touring. Lastly, one should THINK about saying anything rash on this forum, there are too many nice guys who are indeed "real men" and own a raft of other cars....and some are MX5's...bye-bye....

I rest my case.... Now I made Gerry go home.. I feel so bad, and I'm sorry Gerry. Just cant like a car that was built for the female crowd...So dont come on a Mopar site running your trash about how great your Miata is and how it will beat everything. Have you ever driven a 9 second car???? A miata is never going to be close to that so who is uneducated now.. I told you back in the beginning put up or shut up... This forum is for guys that love Mopars and dont want to hear any sh-t about Miatas or any other foriegn car.. And that doesnt mean there not welcome if they do just dont brag how great they are... As a daily driver drive what you will. But dont ever come on a site for Mopars and talk trash about a car or truck that Ive spent my life Fixing, loving, and owning..I ve taken alot of sh-t from Chev, pontiac, ford, so on and so on.And will be damned if I will take it from a Mazda owner. About owning Mopars and I told them the same thing.PUT UP OR SHUT UP..and have had alot of dinners on there money..Bill

PROTECH:
I agree with you, this is a MOPAR site. I'm done with Miata discussion, but you had better be done calling me or anyone else "not a real man" because we own one. I've drag raced cars since I was 15, have had more fun cars than most "real men" I know. Raised two great kids selling cars for 50 years, some REALLY fast ones too. As for Mopars, like I said, I still own one. Not a "nine second car", but a beautiful near original example that draws the crowds at every car show because of it's beautiful unrestored survivor condition. Tell me not to mention my Miata and love for the marque, but don't EVER say I'm not a "real man", you have never met me, nor do you know of me so can it. Be nice to me and I'll respect and be nice to you. What you say about this being a Mopar site is fine, but the thread was about "foreign". I'll accept your apology for the name calling and with that, I will NEVER mention a foreign car on this site again. I can fill pages about my current Mopar (I've had dozens of them), nut I won't bother. Just be a nice guy, as nice guys ALWAYS finish first, and I wish you well.Name calling is strickly for dumb, ignorant, and stupid folks, I hope you are not in that catagory. I'll accept your apology. I enjoy this Mopar site and will continue upgrding reports about my Chrysler.

I never said you were not a real man... What I said was" I have never seen a real man drive one".... The car attracts a certain crowd and I'll leave it at that.. Just look back through the post and you can see where you were headed in this post.. It started as a joke by Moe a guy that loves his Mopars and has been loving them since the 60s. Thats all it was and nothing more. I'm sorry you got offended and didn't want to upset anyone but Ive worked for Mopar for 38 years as an A-rate Master Tech... Mopars rule and you cant change that....Bill

I accept your apology, and I understand your passion for the marque. I can assure you, although I love Miatas, and currently own one with factory sport suspension, etc, etc, and love to drive the hell out of it, I AM A REAL MAN!
Glad to have ironed out the bullXCWZQ, now we can resume MOPAR discussn and I'm all for it, as I do love the "C" bodied cars.
If I'm everin Cobleskill, I'll look you up, have a cup of coffee, discuss cars of all types. I'm sure we BOTH have interesting stories to tell. Glad you're a nice guy afterall...[smile]

Took the Newport to a car show Sunday. There were two other "C" bodies there. A 1967 De Soto Fireflyte Coupe stole the show, won easily. It is nice to have a "C" body Chrysler product, there's hardly any at the shows, but let me tell you, things are changing. It seems every clean, unmolested "C" body is getting the eye from Mopar lovers who don't have the dough for the Challangers and other high end muscle cars. I like the ride, the beauty of the "C" body and the fact those cars will never be built again. It was a fun car show regardless of not winning....

Sold my "C" body '67 Chrysler Newport Custom. Looking for a smaller collectable to fit in my storage garage. It was fun being on this forum, I hope I can find a MOPAR, but there aren't many "small" Mopars, just powerful, beautiful ones!
Happ motoring to all,

There all smaller then a C body and easy to find...And no one says you have to own a mopar to be here you just need to love them...But if you want to leave no one can force you to stay...Happy motoring if that is your choice...Bill
