1972 Charger
I bought this car yesterday, its a 1972 Special Edition Charger. It's got some things that I'll change but first Im getting it sanded and painted, no bodywork needed just remove the rust, by the way almost no rust. I'll leave some pics here, hope you could help me figure out which engine it's got cuz the seller told me it was a 360 but I'm not sure. Nice forum, hope I can learn a lot here.

hey nice car there. Make sure you get ALL the rust. There is a really good article in mopar muscle magazine here about removing rust and some of the areas where you might not expect to find it. If your spending money, it may be worth looking into. I have a 3rd gen as well (73) andi have rust behind the door on the inside of the car. You cant see it from the outside, i found it when i had the interior torn out and was cleaning up and adjusting the rear 1/4 window. Im going to cut off the outside and fix it. Just make sure you get it all
or it will haunt you.and it looks like a 360. I am upgrading my engine to a big block, so I will have an intake and carburator for sale for a small block mopar. Its a 4bbl edelbrock carb with edelbrock intake. If your interested then let me know. |

I think it depends on the heads. I actually am not going to be selling the intake and carb for a little while. I just picked up a 318 for free and im going to drop it in so i have the car running.

well, now I dont know about selling it. I was told that i am actually losing horsepower with that carb b/c it is too big and im not getting enough velocity with my little 318 displacement. apparently the person that put it on thought that it would make it faster, when in all actuality it kills the low end torque b/c its meant for a 340 or 360.
I know the carb will work on your 340 or 360, but the intake im not sure about. I will get the P/N and we can cross reference it. |
