hey guys and gals

Im new to muscle car restoration and for my first project i chose a 1967 charger automatic with a 440 big block, im currently still in the purchasing process i lay my deposit down this weekend. let me go on to say im actually new to car projects entirely haha. luckily i have my uncle whos been muckin around with cars since he was a runt helping me along the way. now i know this car is pretty rare thats proving true in my parts research. does any body here have any reliable sources for body parts more specifically such as sites or stores local to alabama? by the way ill post pics this weekend so you can see more specifically what im going to need but as of right now my uncle compiled a small list for me to start working on and i will bullet my main concerns, please keep in mind the list is in his words so any questions ill have to ask him, once again im new to the whole experience, thats actually the main reason i chose to embark on this project
- complete interior
- front and back bumpers
- center console and shifter
- complete grill and headlight assembly

let me just say i appreciate any help i receive and im so happy to have found this forum to begin with haha.

-Travis

With what you are missing ? I would go with a custom interior & B&M shifter. A console in good condition is going to be VERY hard to find. It went from the front all the way to the rear seat.. There are fiberglass bumpers if you want to paint them.. The grill surrounds - last nos set I saw was $1200 & that was 10 years ago, center grill section, headlight covers or vacuum system headlights ??
You may need to buy a parts car to get the parts you need or go the custom route

the interior im going to do exactly that go custom as much as i dont want to do so unless i can get the original seats reupholstered for a reasonable price locally... but yea im having an extremely hard time finding a center console period lol even a reproduction console. bumpers i dont want to go fiberglass im trying to keep it as classic as humanly possible except for when it comes to the braking and lighting systems and thats simply for safety reasons. grille i actually found everything i need except for the center grille section where the emblem sits. i might actually have access to a parts car ill know for sure within a couple weeks buts its already had a lot stripped off of it unfortunately by another 67 owner whos a buddy of the guy i bought mine off of...

well i found a back bumper, i have the headlight surrounds for a vacuum headlight system just need to find the center grille the backing plate and the headlight motors to complete the grille, i have all my seats and window handles and i recently found out that my 440 is a m code 440 so its the 425 hp motor rather than the 375 hp motor if im correct in what ive found so far. still on the hunt for a center console and a steel front bumper as well as a pistol grip shifter

my 1967 charger factory service manual does not show horse powers. but does list a std H.P. and a H.P. it might be that the std H.P. is panted turquoise in color. and the H.P. might be orange. but iam not sure. my dads 1967 Chrysler 300 had a std 440 with turquoise color. as did my 1965 300 L. with a H.P. 413 360 H.P. a new yorker had 340.

yeah my apologies i didnt mean to insinuate that my 440 was a stock 440 lol i meant it was modified before released from the factory. its an orange block so from what i can find and what my uncle who is the car veteran helping me with this project told me its either the 440 hp or 440 six pack if that makes more sense and if it is indeed accurate information. sorry about the confusion lol i went back and talked to my uncle yesterday after yall said i was wrong and he told me flat out i picked and chose to an extent as to what he told me the motor was. rookie mistake on my part lol

well after a good amount of resourcing saving and buying ive collected a good amount of stuff through people here and other forums, ive collected almost the entire grill just missing vaccum pumps and upper and lower grille bars, still missing steering column for power steering car w/floor shift, shifter, front bumper, center console and dash instrument cluster. i want to say thank you to everyone who has helped me so far and im glad to have met so many great people already
