'nother noob

I thought I would say hello to everyone here, I am a recently christened Mopar owner. After years of owning and wrenching on old GM products I bought a car that just caught my eye. I can't explain it I just had to have it; a 1966 Fury I, two door post with a slant six and three on the tree. Unfortunately, I am going to need some guidance to get her where I want it to be, I hope I can call on the experience of the forum to make it happen. Thanks

glad your here, welcome, yes we`ll help all we can. wow weird combo for a fury, sounds cool.what kinda shapes the body in?

furious 05-05-2009 05:04 AM

The body is actually in really good shape, I have found only one small rust hole (1x2 inch) in the lower quarter panel, the body has small door dings and scratches, the underside has some very light surface rust but is completely solid. I am guessing it has spent a bit of time in a garage. I'll try my hand at posting some pics in a minute.

Welcome, now go online and find a manual for it. Best $20 you'll ever spend. Got pics?

furious 05-05-2009 09:43 AM

I have a factory service manual and a Mopar performance "how to" chassis manual coming my way, I am all about the research. Yes I have pics, but they will not load onto the forum, it keeps giving an error message.

You can make a very strong runner out of that. Nice find.

welcome aboard. that sure is a nice car, if you want my opinion, keep it #s matching :D

furious 05-05-2009 05:41 PM

I intend to keep the original parts if the desire strikes me to return it to stock, but in the meantime a few (or more than a few) tasteful performance upgrades will be bolted (no cutting) in to increase the fun factor. But regardless my intention is to keep it looking like it rolled off the assembly line because I appreciate the factory look.

67 GTX 05-07-2009 05:56 PM

what are your plans for the car?

furious 05-07-2009 06:11 PM

Well...my current plans are the body and interior will look factory fresh, just as it rolled off the assembly line. I was thinking 440 with a four speed for go power and suspension upgrades if possible. It is my intention to do this with no cutting so I can return the car to stock at a later date. All of this is tentative, I have been reading up so I can pose some intelligent questions on the forum.
