3.2/3.5l caution

Just something I figured I'd put out there. The timing belt is due at 105K, and you'd better do it-with a new water pump, tensioner pulley and hydraulic tensioner assembly. In my decade of wrenching, I've seen way too many WP's fail on these engines not far past the due mileage and they are an interference motor that runs about $3-5K for a reman.

As long as I'm on this kick, there is an issue with OEM programming on some years that will cause a hard/no-start condition after hot soak (drive awhile, shut it off, try to restart while still hot). Basically, it's vaporlocking in the rails and the update is a PCM flash that purges the pressure through the injectors (longer pulse width on hot start cranking).

In the FSM it states to change out the water pump when you change the timing belt. The tensioner is optional but you must use a vice to push that tensioner down and use a drill bit or a nail to hold it down then reinstall.
