2015 Colorado zr2 trouble for Wrangler?

I've heard that a lot of people want a Wrangler pickup truck. I've also heard people like diesels in Jeeps. The 2.8 diesel is suppose to make 369 lb-ft torque, locking front & rear differentials, winch, 48" hi-jack mounted in bed, approach angle 30 degrees. We'll see how much articulation this concept has, if it ever comes out, but with the Z71 trim already planned, it seems likely the concept will see production. IF it does, do you guys think it'll mean trouble for the Wrangler?

Why don't you believe GM will give Wrangler trouble?

GM has at least a larger customer base then Chrysler Group, if not more fans too. GM doesn't really have an off-road trail machine. Ford has the Raptor, and Toyota has the 4Runner & FJ Cruiser(not a fan, just speculating) Do you think the Chevy won't compete well against the Wrangler because it won't be equipped stock(or with aftermarket parts) to do extreme off-roading like the Wrangler?

Do you the Chevy will be a "soft off-roader", able to compete with say a Grand Cherokee(not that the GC is soft, but compared to the Wrangler its not exactly a vehicle you would be willing to risk damaging or take on as rough trails as the Wrangler)?

Perhaps theres just not enough buyers interested in a GM off-roader? The same way there wasn't strong interest in a performance sedan(Chevrolet SS).

I think there looking to do something with the AWD Trail Blazer..If they can find the market for it.....
Might be Looking at a Z71 Colorado Soon??? Keep your eyes peeled...
I'm Not sure were the Jeep division is going... But I think they went the wrong way with the new body style, my self..... But then I'm not a guy that plays on the trails..
Just my 2 cents.

Either way it's all bench racing, no one drops 30K on a new vehicle and takes it off-roading. Wait until they're on the used car lot and then we'll see. Until then it's all just believing magazine test results done by an editor with borrowed trucks.
