1968 383 low block build up.
so i have a 1868 chrysler newport with a 383 in it. i have converted it from being a stock 2 barrel single exhaust to being a 4 barrel using a holley 4150 carb and an edelbrock performer series intake. I am in the process fo soing dual 2.5 inch exhaust from the headers back.
any otehr suggestions as to things i can do to improve performance without doing a full rebuild.... thanks, Gary |
Hey,
Sounds like an interesting project. Maybe you'll drop the trans pan and clean the screens and residue in there, new fluid and all that, the Newport should feel real good with the attention your providing. |
MSD coil and an orange box will really wake up the ignition and it is under $100 from summit racing. (just did it to my 78 318).

while your doing the exhaust you should consider using a x pipe design over a h pipe . gains of about 17 - 30 rwhp thats a good amount for not alot more $.
windage tray , a good air filter . nitrous haha :D:D |
Bottle of Black Jack, keyboard, and internet access, gets ya 1000HP slant 6, 8 sec 1/4 neon on pump gas.....;)
