BRAINERD, Minn. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 30th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Paul Pittman Runs 6.820/203.37, Now #1
Right Lane: Mark Martino Runs 6.845/204.57, Now #2
Pittman is making his Pro Stock debut making the move up from Competition Eliminator. Pittman with a real nice first pass and then the chutes didn't come out. There is a long shut off area, so he has no problems. Paul Pittman's incremental times: 60ft-1.029 sec., 330ft-2.878, 660ft-4.400/162.14 mph, 1,000ft-5.712. Martino was straight down the groove.
