TOPEKA, Kan. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 23rd annual Summer Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Steve Kalkowski Runs 6.974/196.16, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 70 percent, barometer 28.52 inches, adjusted altitude 3,428 feet, track temperature 86 degrees.

Kalkowski is making his season debut. He is straight down the groove.

Left Lane: Mark Hogan Runs 6.873/195.22, Now #2
Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.808/203.19, Now #1

Yates is driving the Mark Martino car as he stayed home with his wife who is giving birth. Yates was real loose right at the hit. Hogan with his first pass of the season.

Left Lane: Dave River Runs 7.227/187.76, Now #5
Right Lane: Bob Yonke Runs 6.788/202.48, Now #1

Yonke is driving a car he browed from Richard Freeman. Yonke with a nice pass...

Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 70 percent, barometer 28.53 inches, adjusted altitude 3,282 feet, track temperature 77 degrees.

Gray launches hard and is straight down the groove to get in the top half of the field. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.790, 660ft-4.297/162.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.595.

Stanfield is 3 - 0 against Gray in prior events and this is the first time they have faced each other in a final round.
