Don't waste your money on Jet chips, I put one on my '01 Ram and noticed nothing except a $365 hole in my pocket. A good cat back exhaust will help, as will a few bottles of fuel injector cleaner over the course of a couple weeks.

Find someone local to you that is licensed with Livewire (I think thats the name but will varify). What they can do is re-program your PCM and TCM and get what you want out of your vehicle without throwing codes. More power, better MPG, changed shift points, etc.

Don't buy that Jet chip. I installed their stage 1 in my 2001 dakota and all I got was a thrown code. Worse $365 I've ever spent on a "performance" mod (if thats what you want to call it).

The program is called EFI Live.

To tune a 2000 whether its stroked or stock I use sct.

The stock 360 tune from the factory is horrible and with the rear intake leak that Chrysler knew about but refused to fix made it worse. If your truck / suv has a sticker on the under side of the hood that say PCM with a dealer code your computer was re flashed with less timing and more fuel. This stopped detonation from the oil leak and saved the motors. It took a good 25 HP out of the motor. This makes salvaged motor a good buy as they are mint if the oil was changed.

You can buy the sct from a tuner and most will offer tuning for an extra 100 bucks.

The tuner comes with a base tune or "canned " tune that is basically the stock OE flash with slightly more timing and a tighter off idle circuit. You feel this.

Add the airgap and headers and you will be blown away after a simple tuning session either on the dyno or by using your own AF monitor. If you want a tow rig, keep the intake and add headers. Nice flat torque curve that starts right off idle.

Remember the Crate 300HP 360 engine is a production truck engine. Same cam. It has headers and a dual plane intake. The 300HP was an under estimation. It makes more if tuned correctly.
