67 Fury 1. Thinking of Putin in a 360 insted of the lazy six

Hi there My name is Hlynur an i live in Iceland and i am new here so i hope that you will forgive my spelling, if you see any strange words please bear with me.
I am restoring a 67 Fury1. it has a six cyl motor and a 3 speed manual .
the motor has seen better times , and i am thinking of getting a
360 cHRYSLER 1978 with 904 autom. transm. . being new to this my question is .
do i have to make any major changes under the hood fitting this motor and transm. into my Fury?

and if anyone has done this i would be wery interested hearing about it

Thank you

You may need to think about cooling. Maybe a larger radiator, dont know if the inlet/outlet will line up.
Check with a company called Schumacher regarding new motor mounts.
You can do it, all it takes is money!

If you have access to the complete car for all the nuts & bolts it would make it easier.
Need engine and trans & matching 360 converter for engine balance, radiator, motor mounts- from Schumacher, Trans Shifter- either stock type (replace the steering column) or aftermarket shifter, new driveshaft. New exhaust system, That's the basics

Welcome,
Being you live in Iceland, you might want to just rebuild you tired slant six, for now. The three on the tree is neat and the little six will give better mileage. Then you can enjoy the car while you save parts and do research.
The swap is not bad, but I would recomend keeping the clutch and going with the A-833 (aluminum 4 speed overdrive transmission) from the 80's, over the 904. Found in trucks and Volare, or Aspens. Depending on where you find your engine it might already have the O.D. trans. you will need the trans and bellhousing for a small block. It will fit right in, and be plenty strong for your car as long as you don't dump the clutch at 4,000 rpm. A c-body such as the Fury I is kinda rare with a stick shift trans, and a lot more fun to drive. You will need to move the shifter to the floor but it's all part of modifiing old cars. Parts are available for just about anything and using stock parts for most of it will simplify the process. The hard part is getting them to your country. You are gonna want to know befor you buy just what all is needed. There are several folks from your part of the world here to help as well.
Good luck and keep us appraised on how things are going.
