making a hood scoop

well i'm getting the original hood for my polara from the guy i baught the car from, i'm making a hood scoop n i was wondering if you guys had any info that may help me out with this project. thank you.

indeed, should i cut the whole in the hood the same size as the scoop or smaller ?

Cut the hole smaller, you have to have something for the scoop to sit on. Is it a bolt on scoop or a bond on scoop?

i'm fabricating the scoop my self from 12g steal.

Measure three times and cut once. Mark the inside of the hood where the middle of the air intake is, drill a small hole and go from there.

Why make one? There is nothing out there that you like?

not really but id rather have the pride saying that i made this myself ya know, n yeah cuz the original hood was in an accident with a deer, but it only has a small dent in it about 6 inches long maybe and an half in wide from where the antlers hit the hood, but i'm going to test it out on that hood since its a bit messed up i'll give it a shot with that one before i got gutting up the ones thats on there now ya know.
