Radiator Hose inner coil
i bought galvanized steel 14 gauge wire from lowes and made the coils myself, anyone think these will be a problem, a little thicker than than old ones not by much if it is not strong enough any suggestions on what to use

I use one of those ribbed universal hoses for my lower location. Very strong, and no internal coil to rot out...it is ugly though.
|
The old coil I took out was just starting to show a little rust after 40 years, not too bad I guess, I am a little iffy about the wire it is thicker but just seems softer than the original.

Hate to suck it into the cooling system

The coil in the lower hose is spring steel made of stainless steel I would not use wire..Reuse the old spring/coil and put it into the new hose...Why don't they come with the coil in them anymore???? Bill

Ok problem solve stupid me forgot flex hose has the spring, bought it for $10 cut the hose open took the spring put it in the A/C Coolant hose. Fits perfect and the length is exact. Needed the ac hose because I upgraded to a 26" radiator.
