I picked up a 1972 Plymouth Duster. I am redoing the interior on it and making it my daily driver. It is sublime green, vinyl, top with a flat black six pak hood. Black interior front bench. Has a mopar 360 magnum crate engine, four speed pistol grip.

First time for me in this thread.
Today I put my son's engine in his Mustang, more to get it out of the way than progress the build. I have the chassis complete but I fear it won't be seeing the road this year as he has become engaged and his girl has them planning the wedding.
My other son wants me to work on his '72 Demon with him now, which I am looking forward to greatly. This will put of my own '70 Coronet again but working on any V8 cars with my sons is my greatest love and passion. I am a lucky man.

man o man. i have missed a lot by not keeping tap on this post. i loved all the pics. all my projects are on hold. iam VERY busy taking care of my mom. if you remember i talked about an injection sys for Marvel Mystery Oil. the reason is to have better control of the amounts of oil going into the engine. check out WWW.ampcolubes.com................ he has a oil lube sys like the old Marvel Mystery Oiler. but a little diff. i have had one for 4 years. it does a great job. i use only MMO.

68 Newport
Currently I am getting parts together to get my 68 New Port back on the road.
I still need to get brakes done. It is 4 wheel drum, and I am going to keep it that way. I have a stub frame with a disc set-up but that will go in the fury as it will be more of a performer. Also a Harley FLH but that's another.

I have a 4 door 68 Newport that is in the shop and has been for about 6 months now, hopefully I will have it back in another month and be driveing it, been gone through from one end to the other, it needed alot more work than I had planned on and alot more money than I planned but guess you can't take it with you.The body work is supposed to be done by wednesday then put the glass back in the doors and all the rubber moldings, get the bumpers back on, the carpeting in, the new speakers, the seats and whatever else.

I've been getting a whole mess of add on accessories for my new 2015 Ram 3500 which is on order.. So when it comes in I will be busy.. I have been chomping at the bit waiting but there is light at the end of the tunnel.. We finally got a delivery date which will be in a week to ten days...Can't wait... I also took some pictures of my 72 Duster for a guy that wants to see it.. It is in the garage and covered up. He wanted me to bring it to work for him to see, I told him it doesn't see salty roads or even rain unless I get caught in a shower... People don't get it, That with the time and effort it takes to build these cars who wants to trash it on chitty roads....Bill

Well, I'm new to the forum, so I'll just post both of my current long term projects. One is a torn down 360 LA block engine that I'd like to rebuild to a performance stature at some point. Then the biggest project is a restoration of our 74 charger (which is mostly body work) but it's going slow as a snail

Finished welding up my headers for the Coronet while my son worked on the RX1 snowmobile.
Next will be remove engine/trans to finish front suspension and lowered torsion bar mounts. Eventually have to get to welding on the new rear quarters.

I am upgrading my speedo cluster and hopefully it resembles something from that era.
I've posted in the "Interior, Electrical" section under "Old to new or old looking"

Putting a '69 GTX back together after years of neglect from the previous owner due to some medical issues. It's painted and ready for parts. I'm new to Mopars. I'm going a system at a time. Any warnings around suspensions or headers?

Best to start a new thread on your suspension, header questions, new title more responses.
Have been working on my son's '72 Demon getting ready for the track. Picked up a cross bar for the main roll bar hoop with bent ends to move the tall kid back. I'll be welding that in, got to get to his pushrod length to get those ordered.
My '70 Coronet which was to be next after I back halved the other son's Mustang is going on hold again. It's not so bad building cars with my sons in my heated garage is like a gift for me. Got to get to my car so I can start building my engine. Still haven't decided if I'm going to turbo it.
Dan.

I am doing the finish body work on my 64 Polara. The quarters are done, the roof is done and the cowls are both done and ready for final sanding before paint. I finished the hood and trunk lid as well and now I am doing the passenger door, soon followed by the drivers door and then the fenders. Next spring the engine work starts simultaneously with paint. The the interior and headliner work. Lots of stuff going on all done by 100% by me.

Boy you've been working hard 64, sounds great.
Lately working on the new truck and getting ready for snowmobile season.
If I get my son's Mustang out of the shop I will have enough room to finally get back to my '70 Coronet.

Built a Dr. Frankenshift ratchet bar and mounting brackets to adapt a Shiftnoid solenoid to convert my Precision Performance Products "clean neutral " shifter to fully electric Dr. Frankendodge hands free control. Nobody makes it, so I did!

Getting ready to do the final assembly on my 500 " 440 for the Volare, just checked the valve clarence. The big debate is whether to go with E85 or race fuel. I need a bigger carb and can't decide if I want the problems that alcohol in the fuel brings on.

My 440/500
-- In my 440/500 (68 Dart) - see Albums. -- I had a 850 Holley - a Mopar .509" Hydraulic Cam and used 93 octane from the pump. - With 3.73 (Non Mopar) gears and driven daily on the street, it ran mid 11s at 123 MPH (fast for mid 11s - a good indicator of better E.T.s) -- I believe, with a 1050 carb and around 3.91 gears, it was capable of real low 11s, possibly a high 10. - I set the shift lite at 5,000 and probably shifted around 5,200 - 5,300 RPM - Old man you know. -- It weighed 3,3XX lbs. -- I didn't build it, but I believe that it was a 10:1 motor.
