What project are you working on?
Hey everybody!
We all know that when the winter time comes, it includes snow, ice, road sand and salts.... all bad elements for our vehicles. Now is a great time for projects small and large. So post them up. Doesn't matter if it's just keeping your baby clean and polished for the first show of the year, or if your rebuilding your motor or restoring the whole vehicle, make a thread about it. Let us know what your doing, how your doing it, any tips to make it easier or problems to watch out for. |
It isn't what you were thinking, but I recently finished all the painting on a GTX model to go with the car
just have to attach the cragars to it this thing has like 6 or 7 coats of paint on it http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...ishedModel.jpg |
It's a Mopar none the less!
|
Not a Mopar, but it is my latest project, bought it one week ago...http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z...Home/front.jpg

Throw a Dodge symbol on it and it's good. That garage is larger than mine...... I'm jealous. Looks good though! |
And that's not even the garage I work on the cars in, it's gonna be the resting place for my Neon R/T. The work shop is a 2 car unit with 2nd floor storage ( about 800sf floor area)

Here is my new winter (and spring, summer, fall, and winter...)project. Right now its a 1977 400-727 with 75K miles but soon to be stroked to 470 pushing over 600HP! It was too good of a deal to pass up- ran when pulled been stored inside, turns over by hand... all for $200. Now all I need to do is find a donor to put this into. Thinking another 71-72 B-body, but it will be far from stock. But if I could find one for a decent price maybe an E-body, then again some of the mid 60's are starting to scream at me also.:rolleyes:

Well I just sent my Swinger to the Paint shop, and my dad has not been working so much but is sorta working on his Dart Sport. Pics to follow

That is going to be one strong motor 72RDRNR! Are you going to be detailing it as well or making it into a sleeper motor?

Haven't decided that yet. I think it will depend on what it goes into.

I'd like to find a 400 and stroke it to 451, build it into an ultimate torque motor for my daily driver 83 D 250, that sometimes gets used, like the 3/4 ton truck it is (usually just used like a "car" with a truck body)
and then swap my 3.55s for 3.21s or even maybe 3.08s if they can be had for my Dana 60. |
For how much you would spend on stroking a 400 for torque for your 3/4 ton, you could probably swapped in a 24V 5.9 diesel.

have you planned everything out for the motor yet?
-"I have the engine for you. 470ci 400 stroker! These things are beasts on the street. The 500 are more for the track with their short, super light weight pistons. But the 470 is King of the street. Full forged bottom end, just in case you want Major power down the road. And the 470 can give you just that if you want it. Im specing out Ported Iron closed chamber heads here, cost effective and you still get killer torque. Offy dual quad intake, p/n 5186. Huges hydraulic cam 3742 w/lifters. ARP fasteners where it counts, heads, mains, rods. Aluminum fab valve covers. Aluminum water pump and housing. Hughes aluminum roller rockers, THE BEST! 7qt oil pan w/ 1/2" pick-up." That was from when I was thininking are more mild build with dual quads for bling but after he mentioned MAJOR power down the road I am headed this way (Why not build it right the first time) -"Ported aluminum heads, Nice single plane intake and possibly a cam change to go with the new found air flow. Something like that could get you upwards of 700hp. Now mind you that with Victor CNC ported heads, Victor intake and BIG solid cam, maybe even a roller." :D:D:D:D:D |
sounds like an awsome build

I am currently making a block saver plate and new adjustable clutch linkeage for my tub.

My project redux
Working on a 1976 New Yorker Brougham with a 440/727 combination. Pulled the car out of the mud, got as many of the critters out of it that I could, got a second engine and tranny for it (which is currently being torn down) and am hunting down parts. Pics to follow when I get them better organized.
