Is it the 440? Or the B Body?

Hey guys, it has become apparent that no one... NO ONE tries to race my Coronet. If I take the Challenger out I get every chevy pickup and sh!tstain on the road trying to race me. But if I take the Coronet out, it gets all kinds of thumbs up and compliments.. but no one tries to race it. Its apparent that most everyone sees the car as what it is... a bad *** muscle car. So I gotta wonder is it the mad rumble of the 440 and 3 inch pipes scaring people away or the mean look of the 68 Coronet?

In the long while that I've had the car I've had one person race me.. a guy in a 69 chevy pickup runnin a small block. I blew his doors off of course... well actually his muffler lol.. it was lose I guess and decided to fall completely off the truck as we were racing lol. But other than that no one will try to take it on. Anyone else have this happen to them?

I don't know if anyone races me, and if they did i couldn't tell because I beat them so badly. But yeah, mostly thumbs up and stuff.

If it is a Coronnet They assume it is a bad a$$ 440 motor by the 440 model designation

yep been there done that. i had new dodge charger. not only did every one try try race me. the cops would fallow me EVERY time they saw me. my mom did not like the car cause of that. the story of the 59 ply wagon we put a chrysler 392 in is a an other story. the most fun car was my 300 J with a 500 in max wedge. course it had no emblems or chrome so no one could tell what it was.

I dont I just find it to be an interesting observation. Considering they are both muscle cars.

Many of the old 68-70 Bee's and RRs were pretty subtle. Challengers were pretty obvious, just like a 'Stang or Camaroo whether they were a monster or a 6 whanger.
