a 1976 stock 440 engine? We put headers on the engine but everything else is stock. The thermoquad is not working properly so in the meantime just to get it running would this carb off my 360 work and would the bolt pattern work with the stock 440 intake manifold?

Thanks for any help.

It should work. The power numbers really started to drop during those years so a 600 CFM carb, should be enough to feed the motor. (I could be wrong though). As far as just bolting it up, I am unsure.

You should be very happy with that combo.

The odds are you're going to have to have an adaptor plate to put the 600 Holley on your 440. It should be a square bore, and the thermoquad is a spread bore base mount.

for the meantime, the 600 would work

the six hundred will work.it may need to be jetted up slightly.not all holley carbs are square bore but if it is all you will need is an adapter plate and you will have no problems

nope it will be just fine and use an adapter plate anytime you can as its a good thing to get more room in the flow to mix the fuels and air up before going into the combustion
