Question camshaft

I got a rv2 cam for my 318 poly. This is my first time messing with the camshaft, any advice when changing out camshaft for the first time. I was also wondering do i need to get new lifters and pushrods? they are solid lifters.

I would replace the lifters whenever you change a cam. If you are not changing the deck or head height at all, you should be ok to reuse the pushrods.

check the cam bores.

And be careful putting the new cam back in. It gets easy to scar it up. Lots of lubrication.

And yes, new lifters will be needed when a cam is replaced. Each lifter wears in with each lobe on the cam.
