disc brake conversion question?
 

Has anyone on here converted their car over to power front disc brakes? Im converting my 68 dart over, and I got everything on, and im running new brake lines. The kit I got had an adjustable proportioning brake valve with only 2 ports in it. Was wondering if I could just tee the front 2 brake lines into the front port of the master cylinder, and run the brake adjustable brake valve "in-line" to the rear out of the rear port on the master cylinder. If any can help please do thanks

You should have three ports on that adjustable proportioning valve; one inlet, two outlet. One outlet is front and the other is rear. Maybe I read someting wrong?

I just used SSBC front disk conversion kit on my 1972 Charger and I too got the single inlet single outlet prop value. I installed it the following way, and it seems to work,

You should have two lines coming from your master cylinder to your brake meter block. From the metering block you have two lines that run to the front brakes and one line that runs to the rear. A total of 5 lines in the metering block.

Install the prop value inbetween the metering block and line running to the rears. There is one line running to the rear brakes that usually splits somewhere on or near the rear axle. Most kits come with a short section of brake line to run from the meter block, to the prop value, then the original brake line from the rear brakes installs in the Outlet side of the new value.

been thinking of doing this to my 69 dart gt how much of a pain is it

it was very simple, but Im a mechanic. They have very detailed instructions, and everything in the kit was all seperated wtih the hardware that you needed for that part. lookes very nice too.

The SSBC kit that I used was really amazing. Well worth the money. It came with all the brake hardware and a new master cylinder and 9 inch booster.

The instructions where not great, but if you have installed brakes before, it's a snap.

Most of the kits out there are complete and can be done with basic hand tools in the garage (or driveway) by the average person. Well worth the money in my opinion though.
