Gas Tank Cleaner????

hey i have a gas tank that has a little rust inside the tank, i heard some guy tell me of some stuff you can put it to clean it up, any one know of anything?? let me know! thanks

the best way to clean it without taking the tank out, is to probably suck all the junk out of it.

ok, the tank is already off the car, what do i use to clean the inside of the tank?

i'm not sure of any chemicals, but your best bet might just be to replace the tank since you already got it out.

right, some guy told me to take it to a radiator shop, and theyll clean it for you, its basically the same as a radiator ( the cleaning process), so ima try that and let you know....

SEA FOAM!!!!! Wont do any thing to the rust, but it will clean your fuel lines, carb and engine just fine...

Buy it, use it...Thank me later.....

The rad shop can COAT IT on the inside and prevent anymore rust-scale from forming.

Definitely run some seafoam through the fuel lines, especially since you have the tank off and anything that has accumulated can come right out.

Hey 71 --- doc and the guy that told you about the rad shop does do this and here its around 170.00 bucks but well worth it and they say it lasts along time as well

170.00? man might aswell spend alittle more and get a new tank then not have to worry about a nice size chunk coming off and plugging up ur lines i think a new one from year one isnt much more and just use your old sending unit on it but clean the old sock up from any debrie sticking to or you can just remove it as a temp fix

Chally and 71 ... but SURE to check and make sure their process is not effected by the alky-blend fuel.
