How much is a '68 Coronet 500 convertible worth?

Hey guys I listed my '40 ford pickup today for sale or trade on craigslist. It is not completely finished but as it sets we have about 10,000 and close to 8 months of man hours working everyday 10 and 12 hours a day on it between 3 people. A guy offered me a '68 coronet 500 convertible. Which has a matching numbers 318. He said the motor is completely rebuilt and has higher compression pistons he didnt specify what compression but he said he has done everything he can to get more horsepower out of it. Anyhow it is still a project car, it has new floor pans and trunk pan. it has bucket seats (no console) he said it is column shift. The top is a power top and he said it works great, it is a white top. he said the car is a light metallic blue color code: QQ. He said on of the quarter panels has a little bit of cancerous rust new the wheel opening at the bottom but it wouldnt need to be patched it is pretty minimal damage. What is the car worth? They are so dang rare it is hard to do any studying on them lol. But unfortunately rare doesnt make it worth more all the time. Oh he said the car does run but he doesnt drive it on the street cause of the speedo cable...?? don't know how true that is. I know a speedo wouldnt even phase me, I hardly look at the speedo anyways lol.

Without seeing it I would guess maybe $6000-$7000 with it still needing all that work. It would help to see what it looks like and find out what all was done to the engine.

why would the speedo cable stop him from driving it?
pictures would really help determine its value

Hey is supposed to be getting some pictures for me here pretty quick I will post them asap. And I have no Idea why a speedo cable would stop anyone from driving something. I don't look at the speedo the majority of the time anyways lol. Unless I'm seeing what top end is lmao jk

"higher compression pistons" would scare the crap out of me. How high? If it is too much it will need race gas to run. When someone doesn't now what they are doing, and just throws parts at it, you end up with a real POS. When you can hear it run, then you can base an estimate for value on the whole car, until then it is valued like it needs an engine.

here are the pictures he has sent me of it. And he says he starts it and moves it around his yard. And I would not take off with it without hearing it run or driving it.

This is the worst rust on the car according to him:

So what do you guys think this car is worth? If I were to get it and sell it like it is. Maybe put some nicer wheels and tires on it. It looks to me like minimal body work and a good paint job and this could be a really killer ride. What would it be worth then?
