Leaky Freeze Plug Temporary Fix
Hey guys I have a Freeze plug thats leaking. Its not exactly a horrible leak but its enough that I would have to put coolant in it at least once a week which is not financially possible right now.
With winter setting in I can't just let it run straight water or mostly water. But I've got a baby due on Jan. 2 I can't take my wife's car and leave her without transportation while I'm fixing my truck. I just need a temporary fix to get it through the winter.
This isn't a mopar. Its a toyota 22r. But I wouldnt think that should matter. What are your thoughts on stop leak or some other fix.
The leak is on the back of the block between the engine and tranny. It will require me to remove the engine to even lay eyes on it.

Does it have a coolant recovery system? take a piece of very fine wire and lay it in across the check valve in the cap so the cap does not seal, thus running it with no pressure.
You are playing a dangerous game, depending on your weather.
When I was young, a friend and I junked out at least three engines had been froze and broke or otherwise ruined by coolant / no antifreeze. None of them were our doing, "other people" One was a 273 commando, one was a 383 335 hp, I forgot what the other, Ford was. All of them had run well, and it was a waste.
