locking your hood
 
hey guys i was wondering if anyone knows if they make locking hood pins not the ones with cotter pins but hood pins that actually lock in some way my hood only has the outside release and i want to make it more secure or would i be able to run a inside hood release and remove the outside release if i can run a inside release do i need a specific one or do they have universal ones any advice would be great thanks in advance:D

they make hood pin style locks that have a harley type key lock mechanism.
in 72 or 73 a cable operated hood release was an option. i am almost positive the paddock sold a complete kit but their site is down/out of business.

look around Im not sure if they optioned it in the pre 70's models but I know after like 71 you could option the dart with a inside hood release, and I know theres a hand full of items that switch back and forth from the 1967 darts to the 1976 darts I think I may have one lying around if you can find out it fits

You could also put a small pad lock on your pins. Even with an inside hood release, you can still reach up behind the grille, pull the cable and open the hood.
